SPORTSMANSHIP

The definition of Sportsmanship is conduct considered fitting for a player, coach, spectator, and referee, including observance of the rules of fair play, respect for others, and graciousness in winning and losing.

in the ten years I have been a part of the TFA and LMAA programs, I have been extremely proud of our players in Minnetonka.  I believe for the most part we truly exemplify the definition of the word SPORTSMANSHIP.

When we are standing on the field whether it is as a player, parent, coach or spectator, we must all remember the definition of sportsmanship and show our players (whether Tonka or opposing team) as well as the other spectators, parents, and coaches that we, as Minnetonka Football, know what Sportsmanship means.

So please remember:

PLAYERS PLAY!

COACHES COACH!

REFEREES REF!

PARENTS/FANS CHEER!

Concussions

In June 2011, the State of Minnesota passed a concussion law that goes into effect on September 1, 2011 for all youth sports organizations whether public or private.

In response, the LMAA/TFA has created a concussion protocol. The protocol is located on the Concussion Page (see navigation bar on the left side of this webpage). We also have provided general information and handouts for parent, coach and player review.

TFA has always focused on safety for the players. From 2001 - 2010, TFA has had over 5,000 players playing the game of football. In that time, TFA has only had five (5) concussions reported.
