About Tonka Football Association (TFA)
Tonka Football Association (TFA) is an entirely volunteer organization dedicated to giving the opportunity for players to learn the fundamentals of football, value of teamwork while having fun playing the game.
At Minnetonka, our football program begins in 3rd grade and ends at 12th grade. We are one program providing the opportunity for every athlete the opportuntity to play football at every level.
TFA focuses on the development of the player's:
- Sense of Achievement
- Leadership Skills
- Sense of Teamwork
- Positive self-image
- Moral Principles
- Appreciation of what the body can do
- Social Skills
- Understanding the character a person needs to have on and off the football field.
We want every player to have the opportunity to play football in Minnetonka.
TFA is a member of the Lake Minnetonka Athletic Association (LMAA), a youth football league founded in 1961. The league consisists of Minnetonka, Orono, Westonka, St. Louis Park, Hopkins, Armstrong-Cooper, Wayzata and new in 2011, Maple Grove.
The LMAA is the governing board for all particpants in the league. It is run by a Board of Directors made of representatives of each area.
